Don’t leave home without it.

I was thinking about that slogan today as I packed my cool messenger bag with a ridiculous amount of stuff just in case. In case I have to wait in line (a book), in case I see something dazzling (my camera), in case I need to report a crime in progress (my cell phone), in case the fickle muse comes when I’m driving (a notepad), in case I actually need to see (my glasses), in case someone wants to invite me to a party (my calendar), in case there’s a zombie apocalypse (The Boy, who, frankly, was not all that cooperative about getting into the messenger bag).

Full disclosure: I was going to the post office, and Target… a 20-minute excursion.
